•          Building block kompleks terdiri dari komponen2 yang berkaitan, yang dapat dijabarkan  menjadi building  block lebih kecil.

•          Kumpulan model2, diagram, dan deskripsi yang menterjemahkan kompleksitas entitas dalam operasi dengan representasi berarti.

Langkah2 Pengembangan Enterprise Arsitektur

•          Tentukan ruang lingkup proyek

•          Bentuk tim inti waktu penuh dan tim ahli paruh waktu dalam area fungsional

•          Tetapkan visi target

•          Deskripsikan dimana sekarang berada (arsitektur baseline)

•          Kembangkan arsitektur target

Zachman Framework

•          Bersifat generik dan netral

•          Diturunkan mulai dari goal/objektif, masing2 implementasinya dipetakan pada matriks relasi perspektif pelaku terhadap karakteristik permasalahan:

Ø  “What”  : Deskripsi dari material produk

Ø  “How” : Bagaimana produk bekerja

Ø  “Where “ : Dimana komponen ditempatkan

Ø  “Who” : Siapa yang mengerjakan apa

Ø  “When” : Kapan terjadinya

Ø  “Why” : Alasan pemilihan produk
